State House Lawn

The Vegan Community Kitchen will be serving  vegan Indian specialities at this event.

Please look for our table among food vendors and try our sumptous vegan cuisine:
  • vegetable curry (cauliflower, potato and green beans)
  •  brown rice pilaf with fennel and red pepper
  • kachoris (Indian calzones) stuffed with split green pea and sweet potato or spinach and tofu
  • burfis (almond fudge)

Membership Plans
for Joining the Vegan Community Kitchen

Now is a great time to join the Vegan Community Kitchen as a member/volunteer.

We have expanded our program offerings to serve the community with avariety of weekly activities. The weekly programs listed below will beorganized continuously throughout the year and beyond.


As a member you are entitled to participate in all the programs, including dinner lectures and potluck events.   Of course, we depend on our members to volunteer in helping to organize and coordinate all the activities.  How and when you volunteer is up to you. Every bit of service you can do is greatly appreciated.

Monthly Membership - $25.00

Six Month Membership - $125.00

Yearly Membership - $200.00

Weekly Organizational Meetings: Wednesdays, 6:00 -7:30 PM Thesemeetings are open to the public. Kitchen members meet to discuss, planand organize events and activities. Potluck snacks and beverages.


 

Cooking Cooperative:Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 - 8:00 PM  People come together to cook a variety of meals that can be taken home or consumed at the Kitchen. $5.00 for non-members


 

Multimedia Night: Fridays, 6:00 - 8:00 PM Presentation and discussion of films, videos, music, art or other media related to veganism/vegetarianism. Refreshments served. $5.00 for non-members

Dinner Lecture with Gita Patel

The first dinner lecture, Health Benefits of a Plant Based Diet was a great success. 60 people attended the event.  A full vegan buffet consisting of a variety of sumptuous dishes and desserts was served, following the multi-media presentation by nutrition consultant Gita Patel.
